Swamp Tour
![]() (Enlarge Photo) The first destination on our vacation was a swamp tour outside Lafayette, Louisiana. We arrived early at the pickup site for the tour and walked around the water edge. Half hoping to see an alligator on our own and half afraid that we might see one. If you have never been on a swamp, the water is amazing. Not in a "I want to go swimming in it," kinda way--it's more of the, "I wonder what would happen if I fell into it.". |

We were looking between the trees hoping to see an alligator. For the first fifteen minutes, it didn't seem like we would see one. And then we came upon this guy sunning himself on a log. |

He would attract an alligator by splashing the water and would then feed it old meat on the end of a stick. At one point he was hand feeding them. |
