The French Quarter

A trip to Louisiana wouldn't be complete without spending some time in the French Quarter in New Orleans. We were able to take in most of the attractions and have dinner at K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen. Ken had visited New Orleans previously, but the wait to eat at K-Paul's was too long. This time, we made sure we had reservations a month before the trip. It was worth the extra planning.

Bourbon Street is always pretty active in the evenings. There's a lot to watch unfold on the streets. During the day you can browse shops and eat at some nice restaurants. It's a good opportunity to try crawfish and soft-shelled crabs if you've never had them, (or if you have).

There's a lot more to the French Quarter than just Bourbon Street. We spent a couple of days exploring side streets and small shops. Marilyn had her fortune read by a tarot card reader in Jackson Square. I think she also bought a doll that looks a lot like me at a Voodoo shop--she still hasn't come clean about it's purpose.
